Audio Editing Exercise

Photo Editing Exercise

I had to take a picture of my friend Sunshine Reilly's new ring her husband Billy made her because it has got to be one of the most unique pieces of jewelry EVER.  Billy made it, with love, from his 90 year-old mother's gold tooth.  Being 90, I guess she felt like she didn't really need it anymore and joyfully presented it to him so he could craft a token of his affection for his beloved.  So, Sunshine is sporting a beautiful, hand-made ring which features her mother-in-law's gold tooth.  Way to re-purpose!

I used the iPhoto software to crop the photo, placing the ring more directly in the center to draw attention to it.

In this photo, I increased the contrast as well as the saturation and added a little bit more definition.  I also adjusted the highlight by over 50%, the shadows by 69%, and the sharpness by 50%.  I slightly lowered the overall temperature of the photo.  I was attempting focus the gold color of the former tooth.

This image I created by using the Vignette tool in order to guide the viewer's eye to the ring.  I also saturated the overall color by implementing the Boost tool.  I also increased the contrast a bit and decreased the exposure a small amount.

Live Your Life

We only get one chance at this, let's do it right.  Welcome to my blog, Vive tu Vida, which aims to chronicle my adventures as I grab the bull by the horns and make the most of my one chance!  Join me on this journey and you will learn a bit about the life changes I have made in the past two years and my passion for life.

Last July I started working on my Master's Degree in Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois, Champaign Urbana.  I am thrilled (and more than a little relieved) to have finally figured out the perfect thing to do with my life!  As part of my coursework, I am taking Multimedia Design and Production through Florida State University.    I can't decide which is more exciting--the material and skills I will be learning, or the fact that the class takes place in London!  I am creating this blog as part of an assignment for that class, but I hope to continue to blog as I continue my world-wide adventures.
